Gabi Clayton's site. "This page is in honor of one of my two sons, Bill Clayton. Bill was openly bi-sexual. In April of 1995, he was assaulted in a hate crime. On May 8, 1995 Bill committed suicide... Please remember him, and speak out to end discrimination, hate speech and violence against people who are gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered. If you would like to know more about what happened to Bill, please read Bill's Story."
I did want to know more about what happened to Bill. And when I read about it, I got angry. Gabi put what I wrote on her Responses to "Bill's Story" - page 2. Later, Gabi put The Letter Wars in her resources on hate.Speaking of resources, Gabi has compiled a great GLBTQ and Other Resources section organized into categeries: youth, education, family/friends, suicide, hate, gender, mind, body, spirit, media/arts, and more.
- george's riverpages.com in the Russian River (and gay resort) town of Guerneville, California. george is a gentle soul I met along the 'net. I'm particularly fond of his moustache, but that's beside the point.
- Graham's Hortilad's Place is one of the few bisexual links we have, and he happens to be another man living with HIV/AIDS. Graham lives in England.
We're in the "HIV/AIDS Personal Sites" section of his HIV links.
- The Interfaith Working Group is an organization that states:
"We believe that the characterization of religion as inherently conservative, and the subsequent portrayal of social debates as disagreements between the religious and the areligious undermine faith in religious institutions and the ideal of religious diversity.
Our mission is to inform the public of the diversity of religious opinion on social issues where it is not widely recognized by providing a voice and a forum for religious organizations, congregations and clergy in the Philadelphia area who support gay rights, reproductive freedom, and the separation of church and state."
The Letter Wars is in the Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Religion Documents section of links.
- Parallel Earth is run by another cyber-pal. This site is on the SMaQ [Sex Men & Queers] Ring, where "nudity is encouraged."
We're on one of his Links pages.
QPlanet!, named "A must for any gay bookmark list" by XY Magazine and designated as an official "COOL SITE" on the net by Yahoo!
We're in Homepages -- USA.
- TazForPrez's Home Page is run by a fellow Houstonian who is a Star Trek and cartoon fan.
He has a really nice comment about our site on his Other Homepages page!
The Other Queer Page, "the beginnings of a comprehensive listing of the best of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender resources available on the Web, ranging from coming out to getting involved in the fight for equal rights."
We're under People Sites / United States / Texas.
- Tony Gardner's HIV ZONE is where he tries to inform people about AIDS. Tony's partner Gene Howard died late in 1998.
We're on Tony's Friends page.
WebCastro HotLinks was one of the best-designed pages we'd come across. It really screamed for a browser that supported tables and forms, when that wasn't too common. Plus, Webcastro's home page used Macromedia's Shockwave for Director (see our Computer Links page to get a copy) to produce a nifty morphing logo. The site is actually much faster with the changes they've made, but I miss the coolness of the former format.
