A true test of a Patriot could be asked in these questions, “When did this country turn from a Constitutional Republic to a Democracy? (The word Democracy doesn’t appear in any of our historical documents) How did it happen? By what Amendment to the Constitution was the Republican form of government repealed? By what Amendment was the sovereign status of an America Citizen repealed? If the Supreme Court has already ruled that the 16th Amendment gave Congress no additional taxing authority why is it used by the IRS to say is did? And my personal favorite: The Constitution allows only the Congress to coin money. The Constitution also gives no authority or mechanism to Congress to abdicate their powers. How is it that a private bank coins our money and controls our economy and has a private company, the IRS, terrorized people into paying a suspect tax? Oh yeah were in the Constitution does it say gays are second class people? One thing about me, I was raised with an open mind. I was never taught to hate by my family. I never heard the term “nigger” until I moved from an integrated neighborhood in New Jersey to the Detroit area. I don’t give a person’s color or religion a second thought when dealing with them. It wasn’t until after I received my confirmation into the Catholic Church did I realize the hate that was being taught there. Why would a loving God teach me to hate? I don’t have time to deal with hypocrites. So, Someone God sent is all, when you go to church ask your religious leader why your loving, turn the other cheek God, teaches hate. Even if you do nto believe God is real, think about whoi made this earth or Universe, it just didn't appear from "evolution- which means to evlove from one state of being into another stae of being, because in order to do that, it has to start somewhere at it's birth or origin of being. which is God. The Bible says that in the time when Jesus returns it will be the same as in the Days of Noah, when men and women are marrying, adn given in marriage adn doign all their partying and being lovers of themselves adn their ways more than lovers of God it says. Well those days are upon un now, and his second coming is not far off my friends. There is not time for salvation once you die God's word says. so do some readign and ask God to show you he is real then you will see and know that is indeed real. The Bible is "Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth" and faith is " Fantasic Adventures in Trusting Him" and fear is of the Devil and is " False Evidence Appearing Real" Remember Jesus said " NO Man goes to the Father BUT BY ME" that means he is your only way my friend, no one can pray you into Heaven. I can't tell you the relief I felt when I came to the last page & realized that having the last entry as "November 2004" essentially meant NOW. I've lost too many friends to AIDS; lost too much family to dissent; watched too many drift off away from the security of home and friends because they've been rejected as coldly from their families. Guess I just wanted to say THANKS for keeping this page up as a chronicle of all that. It was very healing to me to read through it all. I'm a teacher now at an Ohio university and many of my students have trouble comprehending the level of rejection posed outside of their own experiences. I'm happy to say that in 13 years of teaching, I've watched straight conservative/religious students come to MUCH greater acceptance of their peers' sexuality than I too remember from the end of the Reagan-era '80s. Also, though this is OHIO and we're apparently still just as homophobic when it comes to voting (see the horrible stats on how many people actually voted against the referendum against gay marriage -- despite its being rejected by both political parties and most religious denominations) -- more of my students find themselves moving through the coming out process almost smoothly. Nothing like the terrible agonies I remember watching in my cousin, my friends, my lovers. I have been lucky to have a good family (at least the closest members) -- not everyone is so fortunate. Thanks again for the page. I appreciate the work it must have taken just to write those letters, much less translate them all onto the web for general access. [By the way, I just love the goofy images for the letter headers -- the sister as the angel/female in the light, the mother as the dive-bombing plane -- also the silly pseudonyms like "Ned Flanders" for the good-intentioned but insufferable step-cousin's husband. Great fun! On another note, I wish the current pages were still written by Wes. What an engaging writing style! Heartfelt and immediate. It all seems so formal now -- like some contemporary online variant on Pepys (well, Pepys in leather). In the meantime, happy solstice. Your page was a wonderful way to begin my Christmas season & relax in preparation for my own family. At least I am healthy and fairly well and, after all, alive. |
